Biography
In 1996 Brockville, Ontario native Pamela Anne Moffatt (formerly Goodberry) was still an amateur, however, her remarkable talent was recognized when she advanced to the national finals of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame’s singing contest in the “professional” category - a truly ground-breaking feat which she repeated at Ottawa Country station, known then as Y-105. The following year, Pamela (then Goodberry) launched her self-titled Mini-CD. Her first release to radio, “Standing My Ground”, charted at #59 with Country Music News, a worldwide publication. The track was co-penned by Stewart Harris, who had also co-written Wynonna’s highly successful “No One Else on Earth”, and was produced by Randall Prescott one of Canada’s most-awarded producers and the multi-talented and much-nominated Jon Park Wheeler. In spite of living with a debilitating illness for more than 19 years, Pamela’s unstoppable passion for music has enabled her to break barriers that most people would have believed impossible. Despite the absence of a music video, touring, a label deal, marketing and distribution, her next release “Why Can’t They Send Them All?” made it to #50 in CMNews, stayed on the charts for seven months and was then voted “One of Canada’s Top 100 Country Songs of 1998”. On Pamela’s third song “Baby I’m Back”, she debut’s her outstanding song-writing ability with the extremely talented Barry Brown of Canada’s award winning “Family Brown”. “Baby I’m Back” has yet to be released but assures us of her determination and willpower…“I know I’m gonna make it…Won’t be easy but then…Look where I was and then look where I am…Yes, Baby I’m Back!”. Pamela vividly remembers Randall Prescott saying he couldn’t get “Baby I’m Back” out of his head! Pamela replied “Yes!!...that’s exactly what I wanted!” All of Pamela’s songs from her Mini-CD have received international airplay in the U.S., UK, Europe, Australia and Central and South America. In 1999, Pamela was invited, after an extensive nationwide search, to perform as a Showcase Artist at the “Canadian Country Music Awards” as part of Country Music Week in Ottawa, Ontario. Noted for her charismatic stage presence and her dynamic, powerful, soaring vocals, here is what music industry people are saying about Pamela: “This lady comes outta nowhere with the talent to compete against anyone in country music!!” - The “Con Man” Radio Show…syndicated U.S. radio program host with 12
million listeners, featured Pamela’s songs on his nightly radio show “Pamela is one of the most powerful singers I have worked with in the studio. This girl has got the goods! And with her talent and dedication she can go all the way!” - Producer, Jon Park Wheeler who has worked with Susan Aglukark, Tracey Brown, Stephanie Beaumont, Carroll Baker and the Family Brown among others. The morning after the tragic events of September 11th, 2001, Pamela was moved to write an Anthem to inspire the World, titled
“We Will All Stand For Freedom”. Although inspired by Sept. 11th, this Anthem is unique! Written as a Global Anthem of “Freedom”, its powerful and inspirational message is both timely and timeless. For no matter what day it is, or what year it is, people will always "Believe in Freedom"! We must never forget the cost of “Freedom”, for it was and is still being fought for by so many. During 2001-2002, Pamela produced a CD with her Anthem
“We Will All Stand For Freedom” and 8 of other her songs. Pamela founded the “We Will All Stand For Freedom” Foundation ("WWASFF"), a non-profit Foundation to which she is dedicating all net proceeds from the sale and airplay of the Anthem, to honour, support and help those who stand for "Freedom”. Pamela and her “WWASFF” Foundation mailed out to honorees packages which included an honorarium and the “We Will All Stand For Freedom” CD. Many other packages were also sent to key people. On Sept. 5, 2002, the “We Will All Stand For Freedom” Anthem was featured on the “Royal Canadian Legion's” compilation CD, distributed to1600 Legions across Canada. On the first anniversary of Sept.11th, Pamela performed her
“We Will All Stand For Freedom” Anthem at a vigil held in Ogdensburg, NY, before a crowd of more than 1000 people. - Gary from New York, was in the crowd that night and wrote to Pamela: "I almost did not go to the vigil, but I am glad that I did, for your song has changed my soul and made it more hopeful. My friend's dad died in the World Trade Center as did a close friend of mine. Your message is what we need." - Rudolph W. Giuliani (former Mayor of New York City) "Thank you for sending me a copy of your CD,
“We Will All Stand For Freedom”. During this past year, patriotic spirit abounded across our nation. Your music is a tribute, not only to the men and women who lost their lives at ground zero, but to this great country."

"Having performed the "We Will All Stand For Freedom" Anthem at a number of events, it is an incredible (goose bump) feeling when I come to the line, "Stand, Stand, Stand...Every Woman, Child and Man... We Will All Stand For Freedom" and everyone in the audience spontaneously stands. You can see it on peoples' faces and can feel it from their hearts. At those moments, this Anthem is clearly conveying the true message of "Freedom".
"I can picture the "We Will All Stand For Freedom" Anthem being played at a major event with thousands of people standing and singing together. The effect would be positively overwhelming."
From Sept. 2002 to now, due to unfortunate and significant family and personal circumstances, Pamela’s career has had to be put on hold. In Dec. 2006, Pamela had to undergo life saving emergency open heart surgery due, in part, to a family history of early heart disease. She recovered from the surgery but was devastated to discover that, after having been in a coma for 6 days with tubes inserted in her throat, she was no longer able to sing at her former level, a condition which has been frustratingly slow to improve. Having literally died on the operating table, Pamela firmly believes that one’s perspective on life changes. “All her life she has dreamed of a career in music and everything that would go with it. Pamela is deeply grateful to have been blessed with a second chance at life and has come to appreciate that the most important thing is to get her music heard. Thus, fulfilling her dream of having her voice, her words and her music inspire and touch the hearts of the world!” It was Pamela’s sincerest intention for the “We Will All Stand For Freedom” Foundation to thrive. A foundation of this magnitude requires energy, money and many volunteers and it is with a heavy heart that Pamela has had to relinquish her Foundation. However… Today, Pamela’s dream is coming true! She is proud and honoured to have her song “Angels Sleep”, chosen to be included on the CD4TheTroops, Titled “Independents for Independence”, Produced by INIRA. The CD will have worldwide distribution of 5 million copies and go to more than 5000 radio stations globally. - James Miller - President of INIRA.org (International Network of Independent Recording Artists) “Angels Sleep is amazing! Your voice is that of one of the angels” About the CD4TheTroops project: All proceeds from the CD will go to help families of fallen soldiers and the brave men and women of the armed forces and those who return from active duty with life changing injuries. With CD sales in Canada to benefit the Red Fridays Foundation and the Wounded Warriors.ca and Canadian Forces Personel and Family Support Services and in the United States sales will benefit the Wounded Warriors Fund and the USO. UK sales will benefit the Army Benevolent Fund. International sales outside of these three regions will be divided between the organizations named.” From Pamela: “It is amazing why things happen the way they do. Supporting the Troops and “those who stand for Freedom” is a cause near and dear to my heart. I am thrillhaved to announce that I will be donating all accumulated proceeds, to date, of my “We Will All Stand For Freedom” Anthem and its Foundation to the “CD4TheTroops” project. I am delighted to report these funds will go directly to help troops and their families. There is also a limited number of the “We Will All Stand For Freedom” CD still available. Proceeds from sale of these CD’s, will again, go to the CD4TheTroops project.
