About... "Angel's Sleep"©
Words and Music written by Pamela Anne Moffatt (formerly Goodberry)
Written for my girlfriend who had a 2 ½ yr. old, a 1 ½ yr. old and was 7 months pregnant when her husband was killed. I wrote this as a lullaby she would sing to her children.
“I would like to dedicate my song…“Angels Sleep” to the many families of Troop members, from around the world, who have lost their loved ones. It is my sincerest heartfelt prayer that the families know…your “Dreams will live on”.

More about “Angels Sleep” ©
I vividly remember sitting at the piano, recalling everything my girlfriend had told me; How her husband had died, how she had been left with 2 small children and 7 months pregnant, her overwhelming feelings of sadness, grief and loss that lead to a point, where she even thought she couldn’t go on, and the immense sorrow she experienced 6 months later, when her son, at his 3rd birthday was given his first tricycle, and said, “Now, I can ride to heaven to see Daddy”.
As I started to write “Angels Sleep”, I imagined that I was my girlfriend. It was like I became an actor and was playing the role of my girlfriend. I started to feel how she felt, I became her, and as I wrote and played the piano, tears endlessly streamed down my face and I cried and cried through every sentence and every word. It was an amazing experience for me, to transform into my girlfriend and to find all the right words and emotions to express her pain and suffering. I absolutely love writing songs from this perspective. It is so gratifying, going so deep into a song and capturing the heartfelt emotions. It is when grown men cry as they hear “Angels Sleep”, I know I have touched a person’s heart and soul and made the deepest connection possible. And it is then; I feel I have accomplished something wonderful!
My girlfriend has been an absolutely remarkable mother to her children and after some time, she found an amazing man, who has been both a wonderful father to her children and life partner for herself. Everyone is doing well and the children are now all grown up. The youngest boy is in construction and traveling, the middle girl is now a nurse and the eldest boy is in the process of joining the Canadian Armed Forces.
